About Us
Gaming The Greenway was founded in 2017 after my grandfather passed. He was always giving back to his community through his actions and words. One of his most famous lines is, "There's the easy way, the hard way, and then there's the Greenway. That means to go above and beyond what's asked or expected of you."
I was always told to treat others as I'd like to be treated. I took this very seriously. From lending an ear to talk to; all the way to taking turns playing my Nintendo on the bus so others could play as well.
Growing up my family always made it a point to give back to the community through volunteering at local charities. It's some of my favorite childhood memories and something I know and love.
In my grandfather's honor, we decided to go above and beyond for our community in the most impactful way we knew how. As an avid gamer and inclusivity advocate. I knew I wanted give back to the gaming community and feel as though my experience in the technology and cybersecurity field would benefit me as we look to improve how people interact in the gaming community; by creating a positive atmosphere and inclusivity for all gamers.
Our Mission
Cyberbullying is an issue every gamer faces. According to Pew Research Center, "forty percent of adult internet users have personally experienced some variety of online harassment." In the online gaming community, this type of behavior is often aided by cutthroat competitions promoting a hostile environment.
To make the gaming community a better place, we strive to teach how to nicely interact with others even when facing defeat.
We strive to teach gamers how to positively interact with others even in the face of adversity. When a gamer is in need, we're here to help whether that be needing someone to talk to obtaining accessible controllers.
